Heart-Shaped Lollies

I arrive

At the Station.

Heart-shaped lollies

Stuck to cement floors

Now appear at the bottom of my shoes.

The sun

Has turned them into a mixture

Of sweet nothingness

That children slip into.

My train arrives.

On board:

Baggage,

Hearts, atom-sized,

Hearts, atomic.

The announcement

Has changed my destiny:

“The baggage is too great

And not capable of holding you.”

Tickets are non-refundable

And heart-shaped lollies

Keep me stuck to cement floors,

Waiting an age for what’s mine.
