Mr. Brady died
everyone used the words passed away
it was strange when someone in my family
died they just died
I assumed if you were nice
that you passed away then
at his wake the men
stood in one place and the
women and Mrs. Brady in another
she was also very nice
Mr. Simon rarely ever looked upset
in his hand was a small pebble
he kept rubbing over and over
with his thumb
I don’t think many people noticed
even then I understood it was
suppose to relieve his stress
I couldn’t tell if it worked
one year later he too
passed away
