Mother

She hangs upside down
her engorged belly obscene
in the light. Like a jellyfish
hanging in the waves
of my window in oceans
of web, in the sea
of spiderlings breaking
out from her abdomen
and I cringing , terror
itching my fingertips,
children around the corner,
gnashing their teeth.
