so this is how it is
in my head
is a little man
this isn’t some double
consciousness metaphor
he’s really in there
he’s wearing cowboy boots
and probably a brace
of colts pistols
who knows
and he’s lying
on his back
like a drunk frat boy
in the back of a squad car
trying to kick out
the windows
of my skull
with his boot heels
