Basic principle of Locality: The Physicist’s commonsense notion
about events,
that there’s a distance and time passed between a cause and its
effect
Electron pair: two electrons that occupy the same orbital but
have opposite spins.
After the Big Bang came the primal diaspora,
the great wandering of everything across the Sinai of absolute
nothing.
Maybe, just maybe, electron pairs sharing opposite spins were
pulled apart,
separated soon after the birth of all being,
yet still possessing an interstellar hankering for each other,
an immutable desire to dance a do-si-do of spins.
For the laws of quantum physics
make us all uncertainties, flickering clouds of possibilities.
And sibling electrons must always twirl in opposite directions
so if one reverses spin then the other must also immediately
no matter how far apart and in disobedience to Locality.
And for this paradox the physicists can describe merely what
happens but not why.
Why, a question only a sentient creature could answer or dare to
ask.
Thus within me some particular electron turns now one way but
perhaps someday in reverse,
while somewhere beyond Ursa Major, Orion, or Crab Nebula it
has a possible lost sibling
within some other sentient being who also scans the sky asking
why.
I and my possible parallel other, infinitely far apart but forever
linked,
two sentient souls, two mere containers for two electrons twirling
in tandem dance.
