Moving On

A German sensibility –
A will to power –
A Nietzschean grasp for the heights
without fear of submerging below –
Doing both, or neither,
whichever, it is ok, it is as it is –
All things in their time, in their place –
So it goes, as Vonnegut said –
Be not afraid to walk through shadows –
Be not afraid to burn like the sun –
My flesh cannot catch fire
because my flesh is the fire –
I cannot be drowned in the flood
because I am the water –
I cannot be poisoned by carbon monoxide
because I am oxygen in rhythm –
I am the air –
I cannot be buried
because I am the dirt, I am
the soil, I am the mud, I am
the shit, I am the gravel,
I am the clay, I am the
dust, I am the ash, I am –
I am the Earth –
I cannot be lied to
because I know the truth –
I cannot be tempted
because I have already bitten the fruit –
I cannot be shocked, nor scared,
nor scarred, nor broken, nor hurt,
nor ruined, nor frightened,
nor moved from where I stand
because I have been hardened –
I am metal –
I am steel –
I am absolution –
I am apocalypse –
I am revolution –
I am renaissance –
I am revelation –
I am everything, I am nothing,
I am nowhere, I am here –
I am not here,
I am there, I am out there, I
am past that, I am more than,
I am gone –
