After Night-Rain

At some point, I'll wake
and it will be dark outside.
There'll be a frog, out
there somewhere, and with its call
I'll remember years
in a city still between
mountains and ocean.
There it was I knew the song
of wind taking trees
five hours walk away, across
orange streetlights. there
detonators just after
midnight. No more now
can I feel again that way,
without remembering them.
