Classrooms
If you are a teacher or professor considering Inwood Indiana as a project for your classroom, please read the details below.
We will publish a student edition once a year in the summer. Educators are responsible to assure all submissions meet basic standards. We cannot accept classroom submissions full of spelling errors or other simple problems. (Do some basic work to assure student papers are enjoyable for us to read.)
- All student submissions must be themed (About happenings in Inwood Indiana).
- Short stories must be between 1000 and 3000 words each.
- All submissions must be submitted at once (by the classroom instructor).
- We need to be notified in advance as to how many submissions will be coming. We must reserve space for your students. Only a limited number of classes can participate each year.
Once your class has been approved to participate, here are some things your students should know.
- Expect some editing. Editing is part of the publishing process.
- All student submissions will be published in our student edition. (Except in rare cases)
- All student submissions will be considered for our standard edition.
- We do not charge to read or edit. We do not pay for student submissions.
- The student publication will be available in book form and published online.
- We prefer students do not contact us directly. We are available to instructors for questions etc.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to be introduced to publishing. Something magical happens when students actually see their work in print. We hope to encourage student writers and provide our readers with student content for their entertainment.
We hope you choose to use Inwood Indiana as a venue for your classroom. Contact us with questions.
Best regards,
